Putin held his annual end of the year press conference by video on Thursday. Putin took questions on a number of issues, from the Covid pandemic to how US-Russia relations might fare with the incoming Biden administration. You can read the transcript at the Kremlin website or you can read the highlights from TASS here.

  1. For me the final part of the session appeared just this morning, including the provocative questions from the BBC and the continuing matter of revisionist history of WWII and NATO expansion. One might get the idea that the man from London asked his questions to show his countrymen how to poke the bear. Putin’s need to keep reiterating the same explanations regarding Crimea and our quitting treaties must be tiring.

Much of the information regarding the problems faced by the Russian people shows that they have much to deal with in the coming years.
