And yet, he must also square with the fact that his parents, who were Holocaust survivors, understood that the Soviet Union had saved them from the Nazis. Alex Sheremet, born in Belarus and whose own family survived World War II, likewise had a family of Stalinists for similar reason. This is contrasted against Ibram X Kendi’s arguments for absolute ethical standards across time.

Just finished the video. Very pleased that Geoffrey Roberts does a good job of doing a historians job, and where pushed into looking at the future, did is not to present a story but to open up all the possibilities he could see, give proper warning and show how it was based on how past events may give rise to them.
